Nesma Holdings has created a non-profit organization with a mission to provide secure productive sustainable employment for local women. A joint venture agreement was signed with KAUST to provide its third factory, located in Thuwal.
In October 2017 more than 200 women from Thuwal and Qadimah attended interview sessions here at KAUST, held by a committee from Nesma and KAUST Social Responsibility. Training will begin for the successful candidates at the beginning of December, with a soft opening scheduled for January.
The hiring process for the factory has inspired a range of initiatives to improve local employment prospects and recruitment practices including CV Writing Training, the development of an Employment Hub and the instigation of the Saudi Talent and Retention (STAR) Program.
